Whew! Damn! ….sorry about that delay….
So yea, if you you looked at the video in the last page you’ll know that I’m now snowed in in all directions with drawing projects. It’s exciting stuff, but really hard to get time in to make my usual webcomics. If you’ve held on so far, thank you!! Before things kick off again with the new publisher I’m going to at least try to release all of the pages of this chapter and get it finished for summer. I hope you’ll enjoy it, and sorry again for the regular and *ginantic* delays!
I’m….still trying to figure out why having these bumble-bots rumbling around loose is a bad thing, or what ultimate benefit they’d be for Laura. So far, the only function I see–is comic relief. ^^
I too am failing to see the use of these robots, except for laughing at 😀 However, from what I understand of Laura, I find it entirely plausible that laughing at them is her reason for keeping them around.
Well…what you don’t see yet is the amount of firepower they’ve got. I held onto that aspect of The Daleks with these guys, but I couldn’t help but lampoon the perception that Daleks were genius monsters who were as intelligent as they were ruthless. So when it came to writing my own Dalek rip-off, I couldn’t help but make them thick-headed morons 😛
(They’re still dangerous though…even stupid can be dangerous)
Well guys, for me, just the Dalek reference is enough to give the Equalizers a bit of an air of menace. Ever watch Hogan’s Heroes? Despite Col Klink and Sgt Schultz’s buffoonery, they were still Nazis.
Also, consider this. Laura is from the future and saw these guys in action. And that led her to not just apparently retire them from her arsenal (or at least severely limit their use) but she felt she had to erase the Flower Girl’s memory of their existence. That plus her reaction here should give you pause.
