Hello all, and welcome back after yet another over-long summer hiatus for Back Office. Alas, as some veteran readers of my stuff probably know too well, summer for me brings a couple of collaboration works and also a much needed chance to recharge ahead of a new chapter.
I usually fill these gaps over on Bata Neart with the interactive “Ask Aoife” segments, but alas I didn’t have enough time to do something similar over here. I’m am sorry for neglecting you this way, it isn’t fair on Back Office readers who don’t read Bata Neart. I hope to make up for it a bit in the coming chapter.
When I first drempt up “Reverse & Rewind” I had originally planned that each chapter would have it’s own theme. Alas Part 2 sort of ran over into this Part 3, so that means we’re still in “Flash Gordon” mode. To help you get you into the mood of this chapter, how about a Queen-tastic clip?
So now we pick up where we left off…and Snow Flower doesn’t seem to like what Laura is saying?
I did not read that as Snowflower not liking what Laura is saying, she seems to be on the same page (putting the safety back on and lowering the gun) pretty much immediately. But she looks very… surprised isn’t quite the right word, perplexed neither. But she has a big question mark all over her face directly aimed at Laura. Snowflower obviously understood what Laura said and that she truly meant it, Snowflover has not yet understood why. Am I making sense? It’s too far past bedtime to be writing on the internet, really.
@O8h7w: “Confused” might cover her reaction best, and your comment was coherent enough. ^^
@O8h7w: Ah ha! You read between the lines really well there. Yes, Snow Flower has understood Laura perfectly…and she doesn’t like it at all…you’ll see how so in the next few pages 🙂
Heh, the Youtube suggestions at the end of the clip for me included “Ten things you didn’t know about Flash Gordon.” Which mentions that the film could have been made by George Lucas, starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, and had music by Pink Floyd.
I find that all a little hard to imagine…
@Kessy: Arnie?! No doubt they meant for him to play as Flash Gordon…but in my mind I keep imagining him as Ming, but done in the style of his horrible Mr. Freeze performance in Batman & Robin ;D
