You mean that trip to the tropical island wasn’t a vacation? ;>P
Now this is likely stress, but I’m wondering if there isn’t also some kind of hallucinogenic spore growing in those boxes that he’s accidentally disturbed. But now that Karen’ has caught him, I think he’ll either run away and hide somewhere or…nah. He’ll just run away and hide somewhere hoping a void will come along and just swallow him up.
@Farren: It was a company outing for a team building exercise. It didn’t even start off as a vacation, and that was before the mind control, slave labor, etc, etc, etc…
-There was plenty of drinking (although some of that was drugging)
-Loads of parties (as a ploy to capture and enslave everyone)
-Pretty girls (most of which were brain-washed commando hunters)
-Lots of healthy exercise (in the form of death-marches, slave labor, and running for your life)
-and a couple of Holiday Romances (One of which was a farce to make Karen jealous, another was the unrequited advances of a villainess towards Karen, and finally the very botched attempts of Karen & Mike coming together.)
So yea…it was a holiday….sort of…………..(not really)
Fish Crackers is a Lost reference? Sorry, I never saw that show. I’m not a fan of JJ Abrams – as far as I’m concerned he’s a complete hack with about as much talent as an epileptic frog.
Sorry. I just saw The Force Hits the Snooze Button for the first time the other day, and I’m still kinda bitter over how badly Abrams butchered one of my favorite franchises. Honestly, the guy hasn’t got an original bone in his body.
@Kessy: There was a running theme in Lost where items produced by the DHARMA Initiative (with generic packaging) were consumed by the characters. Two items that came up a lot were Fish Crackers, and Ranch Dressing. I reference this in Office Party with only food available being Fish Crackers & Range Dressing made by Laura’s GREG Initiative.
I also watched Star Wars 7 a while ago, and although it didn’t feel like a bad movie, it did feel kind of ‘sterile’. It lacked the gritty thrown-together character of the originals and seemed way too polished. Also First Order is an OK bad guy…but it’s no Galactic Empire (at least not yet).
Objectively, I’d say as a generic space opera SW7 was mediocre. It’s certainly not Starship Troopers bad – I’d say it’s just a bit worse than Pacific Rim But it’s Star Wars, so it’s kind of hard for me to be objective. Let me put it to you this way: the original theatrical premier of the very first Star Wars movie was two days after I turned one year old. It was kind of a big part of my life as a little kid. So it kinda irritates me to see someone like Abrams messing with it.
One of my biggest complaints is that the story is all recycled plot points stitched together in a pretty unconvincing way, with some really massive plot holes. Particularly the one they flew the Millennium Falcon through.
Abrams also telegraphs his plot turns really really badly. Like when (spoiler redacted) confronted (blank) near the end of the film on that catwalk just before the (blank) was destroyed (you know the scene I mean, right?), it was supposed to be a moment of high drama and conflict, right? I found myself sitting there thinking, “Okay, he’s obviously going to kill him., so just do it already and get the story moving again.”
I also thought the character development was really bad. For example, Finn is a really interesting character idea, he has a lot of potential for development in a couple different directions. why did he leave everything and everyone he ever knew? Is he just a coward who can’t handle the stress of battle? Does he have an inner sense of decency that somehow survived his conditioning? Who was the person who left the bloody handprint on Finn’s helmet – was he someone important to Finn? But they just didn’t do anything with him or his character.
But to me the biggest problem is that this movie just misses the point of what Star Wars means. To me, the defining feature of the series is the struggle between good and evil in one person’s heart. The first six films taken together are really Anakin’s story – how he struggled with temptation and conflicting desires, fell into darkness, and was ultimately redeemed. I saw none of that at all in the new film.
LOL NSFW? Whose work? Ours, or Mike’s?
I think Mike needs a vacation.

Imaginatus Humilliatus (Psych.) The condition of having your internal dialog leak into real life.
There is no known method of recovering from an episode of it.

@Kessy: Oh, I know that. But I figured that since it was on a nice tropical island…yeah, it was a stretch.
@Farren: LOL Well, at least Mike came back with a tan, maybe? and surviving in a jungle does tend to help you lose weight…
@Kessy: Oh…not safe for anybodies work…although maybe not at Call2Home, considering the photos of Karen that they used in their adverts 😀
@Delta: I tend to favor running away while flailing my arms about. Always works 😀
@Farren: Well…it was sort of a holiday for them.

@Kessy: There was only Fish Crackers and Ranch Dressing to eat there, so I would expect that he’s lost some weight.
(I’m assuming people got the Fish Crackers reference came from, and this it’s not lost to them :D)
