Yes, and I know what is true: that Karen is there. Probably the Karen that was originally in this timeline is really hard to get hold of by now.
This is a well-drawn and dramatic page, but it would be sooo much better if I did not know these things! The tension! The ominous lighting! The soon-to-happen plot reveal! On the other hand, back in ‘Office Party’, there was a feeling of not knowing enough about what was happening. Maybe that was just because there was such a lot that happened between the scene being set and the plot being revealed, and then there was so little of the story left after the plot reveal. I’m not sure, I’m no writer, just an experienced reader.
What I’m dying to know is exactly what history-tampering Mike did and how it lead to this. But it will be a while before we get to that, I guess.
Maybe it’s just the way I’m reading it, but Laura sounds a little… breathless. Almost like she’s about to squee. Which definitely works for her, but kind of undermines the whole evil overlord thing. I’m curious just what sort of an overlord she’s going to turn out to be. Although I’m still definitely hoping for no goatee!
Something just occurred to me – does this mean there’s a metal bikini in Karen’s immediate future?

@Kessy: Not to worry, no goatee but I did try my best to make a hybrid Ming/Laura. If you’ve seen any of my recent work with this year’s Coffee Party, you might catch some similarities with what I do with Evil Queen Eclair and what you will see with Laura 🙂
