I’m not really sure how it is with the office-party cultures in other parts of the world, but whenever I see the phrase ‘Wear Comfortable Shoes’ appended to a party invite, it usually means that the party involves physical team activities…and thus is best avoided if you don’t like that kind of thing 😀

Last one of these I went to (several jobs ago, thank God I have a good one now!) had several ‘team-building’ activities that we suffered through, then my manager’s boss pulled suggestions out of a suggestions box they had posted earlier in the year and began to rip apart all of the suggestions that were made. Being mocked by management really boosted our spirits there…
Thus, my inclination to not go to these 😀 Also, ever notice that some managment tend to get away with not joining in either? 😀
