Actually, something just occurred to me – can a VW Beetle actually get up to 88 mph?
@Kessy: Yeah, it just takes longer so it requires a much longer road. ^^
Roads? Ha! Where we’re going we’ll…erm…probably need roads…yeah….
They’re only going to the near future (not the Future Space Year 2015) so maybe they only need 44mph? 😀
Interesting fact: the Delorean speedometer only shows a top speed of 85 MPH. This is why the digital display was required.
@Roger: Wow, and there was me thinking that the digital display was just there because of “SCIENCE”, and also because Digital LCD / LED displays were futurey and 80’s-ish 😀
But yea, apparently the Delorean motor was horrible which fits nicely with the fact you shared.
