Of course there was small print. Lots and lots of small print. It’s like a line from Freefall, “Our EULA is six petabytes in size. We encourage click through by ensuring it is too large for a human to read in a single lifetime.”
@Kessy: Ah, yes, Florence Ambrose is one of my heroes. ^^ (Of course, so is Sam…..)
I wonder if simply refusing to show up for work is an option. And since Karen signed off on her image, she can’t be held liable if the company’s use of said image violates nudity laws. There MUST be somebody out there willing to try to make a fast buck by suing JOB4YOU on that basis.
Nudity laws? I’m pretty sure even the US doesn’t have nudity laws anymore, much less Europe. The FCC does still have some regulations on TV and radio broadcast stations, but who does that actually apply to anymore? I think limits on that sort of thing are pretty much just from media companies content policies.
@Kessy: Pretty much 🙂 I’d add that they probably flashed the paper at them for a few seconds, said “You got that?…good!” and then promptly moved to getting their victim valuable employee signed up.
@Kessy: More or less correct over here in Europe regarding nudity laws (or more the point the lack of any).
Depending on where you are, and what is being marketed, nudity will occasionally crop up in print and TV advertising. It’s often fairly tame stuff and rarely ever results in more than a handful of complaints from people who are likely to complain anyway. Although an advertiser could potentially get away legally with full frontal nudity, there is a degree of self-sensorship at play where they would rarely go that far. What I had depicted in the Karen adverts is the about the extent of what you would potentially see.
@Kessy: and @Rawr: Yeah, the stuff we’ve seen so far is pretty tame by European standards, but except for designated nudist beaches, most countries have at least some limits. Karen seems pretty agitated about the while thing, which makes me wonder what ELSE they might have that we HAVEN’T seen that has her so upset.
Besides, when was the last time a little thing like the law stopped a lawyer that smelled money. ^^
@Kessy: Alas for Karen, much of what she did that night or agreed to is a dark blur. The only evidence she had, is waking up naked with a Magnu in her bed, and the sudden arrival nude adverts starring her. I don’t know if she has seen all of them yet. I’ve made 2 so far, but that is not to say that there isn’t more. If I can think of funny ways to further advertise a mobile phone network with this, I’ll probably add more in future.
@Ezarkal: Welcome to Back Office, and I’m you’ve glad enjoyed so far 🙂 The whole thing in one go?! How did you manage it? Things really drag on in Office Party 😛
@Delta: You’d be most welcome to throw in some ideas. Although I don’t often get the chance due to schedule pressure, I’d like to make my comics as interactive as possible 🙂 So by all means go nuts.
For the record, the only 2 Karen adverts I have written have been shown: “Total Coverage” & “Leave Roaming charges Behind”

@Delta: I think it’s probably the fact that Karen can’t remember what they have that we haven’t seen that has her upset.
@Kessy: Oooh, good point! I hadn’t thought of that. 🙂

Hi! I just found the comic read almost the whole thing in a single go. It’s awesome! Thanks for creating and sharing!
@Ezarkal: Welcome to Back Office, and I’m you’ve glad enjoyed so far 🙂 The whole thing in one go?! How did you manage it? Things really drag on in Office Party 😛
@Rawr: Ooh! Ooh! Advert ideas! Can we help? We may not be professional ad people, but we certainly have wild enough imaginations. ^^
I’d understand if you wanted to keep the fun for yourself, but still……
@Delta: You’d be most welcome to throw in some ideas. Although I don’t often get the chance due to schedule pressure, I’d like to make my comics as interactive as possible 🙂 So by all means go nuts.

“Got Data?” “For All Your Internet Needs” “HD video streaming at ### a month”
I guess I’m too late to the party for these to be used, but it’s just as well – I don’t think I want too see Karen in pain over these much more.
