Welcome back from after the break, and thank you again for your patience.
Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself, I went for another awkward silence page. Although what can you say with nude Karen adverts flying past.

“Don’t drink and…”, well if you’re Karen, the ending should be, “…do ANYTHING”. ><
At this point, however, bursting into tears seems like a pretty good option.
@Delta: Alas it does seem that Karma likes to give these 2 a hard time. Especially Karen lately.
I didn’t recon she’d burst in to tears here (although she would have every right to) but I did want her to look very mortified with embarrassment. Having your drunken ass plastered all over the city is bad enough…but then having to see those ads with your ‘on-again off-again maybe love-interest’ is just beyond awkward.
@Rawr: Well, you nailed the “mortified with embarrassment” look right enough, but I’ve heard that hard crying releases endorphins, which sounds helpful, showing a strong negative reaction would reinforce the “I didn’t want this” motif, and tears might cause Mike to interact.
I can’t speak from actual knowledge about the first, since I’ve never cried hard enough to produce anything but tears and snot, but the other two possibilities sound hopeful. 🙂
I think Mike should say “I’m sorry this happened, I really should’ve looked out for you”. Because he should have. Best possible way to start talking again when things are awkward are often some sort of apology, I think, and in this case it seems rather obvious… from the outside looking in everything seems easier, of course.
