I remember those, in the older days of Windows, as pretty much useless. Usually you’d have to shut down that which you were trying to do in order to fix the problem, so “Retry” didn’t make any sense whatsoever. There was a few exceptions, of course, but when the exception is the case where your UI makes sense – newsflash, you’re doing it wrong!
Ohhhh yes. This usually popped up when the PC was trying to read a floppy that wasn’t in the drive. Even if the disk was re-entered, “retry” was worse than useless 😀

Those options were always useless….
