I’ll admit, it’s a lame cop-out to give Karen ‘spur-of-the-moment super strength’. I suppose you could say that the other people were too consumed by surprise and fear to free themselves from Q-Matic, but even then it’s a bit of a stretch for her to be able to free herself from that bind. But I felt that the drama called for it, and when drama calls…it usually wins on my drawing table. 😀

You could always explain it as a combination of adrenaline, and all the previous victims struggles loosening the screws.
