Well, the “Call” is very confident in her chances of getting her Caller together with Mike, but with Karen there…well….you know….

“Where insanity is bliss, ’tis folly to be of sound mind.” ^^
(With apologies to Thomas Grey.)
Or it could be that Karen’s hairtennae have homed in on the “Call” that is not quite as much in Mike’s mind as he thinks it is. 😛
But as I always tell my wife whenever she yells at me for making her crazy, “That’s where all the fun is. Sane is boring.”
@Delta: Not to worry, I’m sure Thomas doesn’t mind 😛
@Farren: Hairtennae! Awesome 😀 I’ve been drawing her with those for nearly 7 years and I never thought of that 😀
Antennae hair is a fairly common visual trope in anime and manga. I imagine you probably picked it up from Love Hina. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HairAntennae
Got it in one Kessy 😀
For many years before I studied Nao’s techniques I’ve used Love Hina as an art and layout reference (and I still do sometimes).
Sure enough Naru’s antennea influenced my original re-design of Karen.
On a side-note, Love Hina was one of the few examples of a manga I enjoyed while the anime just annoyed the hell out of me.
Betond it being a fairly lame page-by-page copy of the manga it featured a re-design of Naru that seemed baffling. She had a lot more visual character in the manga compared to what she became in the anime. They only seemed to do that to her for some bizzare reason.
