VDSD 2023
So yea, not much has happened this year apart from this year’s VDSD, which I’m afraid is a bit of a rush job. TL:DR, I’m still working with a print publisher, so much so that I have to be away form the webcomics more than I banked. I still have pages ready to make, just no time at all. I’m going to try to cook up an update video or something to explain, it’s all still very positive reasons why I’m away.

So….*I’VE been missing*…and I owe everyone en explanation. It’s a bit of a broken record I’m afraid and is related to good things have happened. The work on Rakkan & Last Day continues and probably will for the forseable future, and I am loving it all it’s a dream come true. But it pains me to leave my webcomics idle like this, so I’m still trying to find a balance so I can keep doing them.
Working digital has helped a lot, and I’m now trying to get into the habit of alloting at least one day a week to Bata Neart work. Above is the fruits of the beginnings of what will be the next chapter “Aoife’s Shadow”. Yes, the long mooted Aoife-centric chapter is underway.
But; how to do this? Problem is, with everything happening I can’t make the pages weekly anymore. I’m thinking of trying to make them in an complete 20-page chapter and *then* release as a complete chapter. I’m not sure how everyone feels about that, and feedback as usual is gladly welcomed.
In the meantime, I’d like to declare a new round of:
Ask Aoife
Since this is an Aoife chapter coming up, it’s only fair you get another shot of asking her your questions, and thereafter I can draw up her responses. For those who are new, you can directly ask Aoife anything by commenting with @AskAoife, and then your question. The same also works with @AskAshling…but beware, Ashling gets pissy when people do that 😛
I hope to keep this place alive while I galavant around on this semi-professional manga gig I have going in Norway at the moment and I hope everyone can still forgive me for it.
@AskAoife: Hey, Aoife, I was just wondering what life would be like if…. Aw, let’s just try it and see. (Whips out a transmogrification gun and shoots Aoife, turning her into a dog, then shoots Ashling, turning her into a cat. Then runs off giggling before Ashling can kill me.)

Do what you need to do. I will read anything you post, but I typically only comment on the last page of a group posted all at once (call it a quirk–or better yet, and probably more accurately, neurodivergent), but there you have it.

@AskAoife: Ever since we met her Ashling’s seemed to have been in a pretty bad mood. Which is understandable what with almost dying and being chased by legendary monsters and whatnot. So what’s Ashling like when she’s in a better mood and not dealing with paranormal nonsense?
I think doing the full chapter as a big post could work?
I’m waiting for a lot of things so I jump between multiple webcomics lol. Anything you want to try, try it. =3
I’m tempted to do complete chapter dumps once I draw them, especially since the weekly model isn’t really working anymore. With I might end up doing is split it into 10-page blocks and push them out together.
Okay, I’m late for to the party, but here’s $0.02:
Finish the chapter as twenty pages, then post that, each page separately, but all at once, so we can use the the nav buttons to scan the pages. Right? Anyway, this is the way those of us who still read printed novels, waiting for what’s next is what we know and are used to. Okay, that was 3 cents, but you know…
