@Kessy: Lol! A webcomic I read, October 20th http://www.october20comic.com/comics/, is really dark and bloody with monsters and murderers and assorted ruffians, and two of the characters are killing time waiting for the big bad monster to show up by playing Go Fish. ^^
Huh…I thought Snap was fairly universal. That’s what I like about web-cartooning…I get to learn new stuff from my global readers 😀
Well…I guess this just adds to the silliness of this joke. The thing about Snap is that it’s the very first card game any of us would learn in Ireland (and the UK too). It really is just throwing down cards until two of the same appear (one in the hand, the other on the top of the pile). If that happens, the first to yell “SNAP!!” and slam the card down, wins the pile. Overall winner of the game is the person who gets all or most of the deck.
Since it’s such a simple card game, I really wanted it to be punch-line of Evil Recruiter Guy’s seemingly cunning plans. It all boiled down to a simple “Snap!”…which, in reflection, is horrible thought-out evil plan and was totally down to luck 😛
Hey, cool! And I might be even more impressed if I’d ever heard of Snap before. ^^
Lol. I agree with Delta. This might be one of those jokes that is a little too domestic for the rest of us. Please sensei, teach us the ways of Snap.
Yeah, I’ve never heard of Snap either. The rules are really simple though. http://www.bicyclecards.com/how-to-play/snap/
It sounds to me like something in the same general category as Go Fish or Old Maid.

@Delta: My grandfather’s favorite card game was Go Fish, he’d always play it with me when I went to visit him when I was a kid.
But isn’t Old Maid pretty much mandatory in an anime like setting?

Growing up in Sweden, I’ve played that game only once that I can remember. And I think we used a different word. I was really bad at it. 😀
