There’s my odd attempt at a text-accent. What has she said? Why is it so vital that they try to kill her for it? Well…I still haven’t figured all of that out yet. But for this chapter it’s not that important to know…only to know that this happened.

And, in she goes. 🙁 Hmmm, actual rat or mistaken assumption by the murders? And one does wonder what she allegedly blabbed about? Petal is “Ghost-girl’s” name, then? Also, I take it that Petal can not swim? Otherwise they really should have tied something heavy to her foot or waist.
I’m afraid it was going here. The reasoning behind their acts is something I’m still thinking about. Thus, this may be re-visited in future chapters in addition to the main story of Bata Neart. I think there may be a few other ‘mini-plots’ running parallel to the main plot, and the Ghost-girl story is one of them.
‘Petal’ is actually a term of endearment you might hear in Ireland. Normally it can indicate kindness, but it can easily be twisted into a condescending put-down. Depending on the phrasing, calling someone ‘Petal’ can be same as calling them a moron.

Wow, this origin story just keeps getting darker and darker. Ashling might need some serious therapy when this is over.
I think her friends will help her through it. But agreed, this kind of experience would mess up anyone :O
