Continuing from last week, the girls venture across the old pier.
Technically, this page brings in a new drawing trick I learned from watching the work of my Facebook friend Nao Yazawa (The Manga-ka of ‘Wedding Peach’ fame). It comes into play on the main panel in the middel.
As well as there being two points of perspective on the horizon, there is a further 3rd point several centimeters south of the page border. Using this, a sensation of ‘looking down’ is created, adding depth to the image.
Thanks to watching Nao forming some of her pages on her FB timeline, I have been able to improve my style a little. For this, I am very grateful.
Coming up next week…a kinda cheeky page (and possibly NSFW).
And *now* would be a good time for them to turn around and go home. Or at least stop and try to communicate with their insubstantial companion at a safe distance.
I like the perspective technique you used there, when I saw the panel I thought ‘hm, interesting, I wonder what system he used for that’, and then I saw you explained it. Thanks, I might try myself some time.
Looking foward to the next update.
Ah Red, you know that she not going to turn back now 😀
Thanks for your kind words on my little perspective experiment. If you’d the page with all of it’s construction lines, please check out RAWRtacular’s Google + or Facebook page (links above) to see. I also tend to throw in little teaser images there from time to time. (This week’s upcoming NSFW piece has been there for while now :D)
I’ll also try to look up the links to Nao’s tutorial pages if you are interested. I only just found them lately, but she’s got a goldmine of Manga tips in English there.
I hope you enjoy next week’s Bata Neart 😀
