She didn’t actually fall behind the waterfall. She’s close to it, but what she actually fell through was a cutting made by the river. (Check Page 12, you’ll see a small branch of the river break off to meet the cutting), thus there’s a small waterfall where Ashling fell.
I used this location as a likely resting place for the ‘Bata Neart’ where it would probably remain undisturbed for eons. At least until my plot demanded that it would be found again 😀
Aha, so the mage lady from chapter 1 makes her reappearance. Which will hopefully give poor Ashling a new lease on life.
btw, I am correct in understanding that she fell behind the waterfall?
