Oh god. She really did just fall off a cliff and die (probably, though that lower-spine break isn’t necessarily lethal). Dark indeed. I imagine this is necessary for the plot… but its certainly unpleasant.
The spine breaking is really in there for shock value (but has some plot significance later on). This gory darkness will continue into this week’s page and then things will get a little different.
