20.08.2021 – Video Update from that wierdo who makes this comic!
Farewell Howard and Jim-Bob, you two gave this comic some of the best dialogue in ages. Can’t forget such classics such as “K’tic” and of course….”ARoooo!”.
Despite going on a little roll of “normality” with weekly Bata Neart pages, summer is now upon us as well as an avalanche of projects I’ll need to work on. This includes the usual Coffee Party stuff and my commitments to Outland Publishing to make the next chapter of Last Day: Stand Tall by the end of July. I’m still trying to find a way to share that one with you folks, but right now I think Rakkan can only be shipped to addresses in Norway. Time for a new competition perhaps?
In the meantime I need to get back to an insane summer of drawing. Here’s a computer simulation of what my days will end up looking like.
I do eat a lot of toast…so this is pretty accurate.

Ashling, BAMF Status: UNLOCKED!
And right there in front of Garda Racheal, too. I’m sure there will be questions forthcoming. 😈 Wakey, wakey Áine, you are missing you padawan kicking arse and not even bothering to take names. Clearly she was all out of bubble gum. Wow, I’m a little surprised Aoife doesn’t have a bit of a nose bleed here. 😛
@Azreal: Damn! I should have totally given her a nose bleed. Although…maybe that might have been too extreme…given who we’re talking about here.
Actually, I don’t think giving Aoife a nosebleed would fit with the mood of the page, which is both serious and seriously awesome. ^_^ In a less meta sense, Aoife has had a bit of an emotional roller coaster over the last few hours. She saw Aine jump in front of a monster to save her, landing her in the hospital, had a confrontation with Rachael, had a huge bout of self doubt, saw Aine get possessed and come after her, unintentionally used some serious magic to save Aine, had Aine fall on top of her, get attacked by more monsters, and now Ashling rushes in like an action hero to save her. Also remember that the last time Aoife saw Ashling facing the Fomorians, Ashling was just getting over hiding behind a tree. Aoife must be emotionally exhausted and prolly hasn’t fully processed what’s happening. I’m thinking once the adrenaline wears off she’ll be out like a light. But don’t worry, I’m sure once Aoife’s had a chance to recover, she’ll be fangirling over Ashling so much that Ashling will be about ready to strangle her.
@Kessy: True, but I’m thinking that when Aine finds out that the Bata Draiochta responded to Aoife, the Witch School student body is going to double in size. I’m also pretty sure that the possibility of learning to be as awesome as Aine and Ashling is going to distract her from (too much) hero worship pretty effectively. ^^
@Delta: I’m sure you’re right that “enthusiastic” won’t even begin to cover both Aine’s and Aoife’s eventual reaction to the discovery of Aoife’s magic potential. But I don’t know if anything could preoccupy Aoife so much that she couldn’t spare the attention to lust after Ashling. (And tease her!)
Hey guys, there may not be a new comic, but I have a new chapter of Loose Ends posted. So you can have some more crossover silliness with Aoife 1 and Aoife 2. Or was that Akko 1 and Akko 2? I keep forgetting.

Just as a quick comment bar update. I’m still digging into Last Day Chapter 2. Everything is pencilled, I just need to ink the lot. The digital tablet is helping a lot with the speed, which I hope will carry well over making Bata Neart pages going forward.
