@Kessy: If she drives them up to the school buildings in a Garda car, Sharon will notice straight away. This road is just off from the forest that surrounds the school grounds. 2 pages ago you’ll spot the school in the last panel, and that they’re not too far away.
However, leaving them on a darkened forest road without reflective gear isn’t the safest choice for a Garda to make alas :/
See again another reason I love this comic I may be wrong but I swear you threw that “I’ll be back” line in there due to our terminator references last time π . The girls don’t look to thrilled about trying to give a “real story” to her about all this. I wonder if they will go after the ambulance since they know the fomorians are still after the others.
@Howard: Actually the idea that Sharon is really a terminator has been a standing joke for a while now. You might want to go read the comments sections in the early part of chapter 8, “Home Alone” for more killer cyborg from the future silliness.
@Howard: As Kessy mentioned, the whole Terminator thing has been around for a couple chapters now. I wasn’t actually planning to have Racheal say “I’ll be back” in my original plan, but then a little voice in my head just started going: “Hey! (Nudge) (Nudge) Terminator joke! Do it…..DO IT!!! :D”
I blame whatever part of my head that Aoife comes from; for that little voice :O
Yanno, I have a sneaky suspicion that Garda Rachael would have an easier time getting the real story out of Aoife than Ashling or Fiona. If for no other reason than I think Aoife would be a lot less self-conscious about sounding crazy to other people. I wonder if Rachael is aware of that?
It belatedly occurs to me to wonder if Garda Rachael’s surname might not be “Reese”. π To my knowledge it hasn’t been mentioned, neither in comic, nor in the description / comments.
Tangentially apropos: If Garda Finn’s surname is not “MacCool” I will be gravely disappointed. Although I would accept “Raziel” for the pop culture amusement as well. π
@Azrael: Somehow, I always imagined Aine delivering the line, “Come with me if you want to live.” In Irish, of course. After all, Aine is, in a sense, a time traveler.
And come to think of it, Aine will be needing a surname in the near future. And given the current situation it looks likely that Aoife will be picking it. So the question is, would Aoife give her friend a pop culture reference for a surname? Silly question – I think we can all see her doing exactly that.
Hmmm, would Garda Rachael believe Aoife about Ashling’s “magic stick?” That’s kind of a tough one.
The first thing in my mind is that although we know that Aoife clearly has quite a reputation for mischief, does she have a reputation for lying and making things up? If she does, she’s going to have a hard time getting Rachael to believe anything she says full stop, before we even get to the question of magic and Fomorians.
On the other hand, if Aoife’s reputation is that she’s a troublemaker but an *honest* troublemaker, I figure that there’s a good chance Rachael will take what she says seriously enough to at least investigate. And then she’ll find that Aoife doesn’t have a cousin and Aine doesn’t officially exist. She’ll also likely find out about Ashling’s miraculous recovery from way back at the beginning of the story. She also might find a rather interesting insurance claim on poor old John’s car. And there is that news report about Ashling’s rainstorm.
While the girls haven’t been making a public spectacle of their supernatural hijinks, they *have* been leaving footprints, if you know where to look.

Yes, like the roof of the Gardas’ patrol car. π
@SirReal: I suspect Aoife of being the Time Load in this comic. Although I always suspect Aoife…it’s kind of the default mode when dealing with her π
Garda Rachael takes pity on them. For now. Because she’ll be back. π
So Garda Rachel is also a killer cyborg from the future, noted π
@Azreal: Probably also doesn’t want Sharon ripping them to bits before she gets a chance π
@Itmauve: Also note that since she’s a cop, she might be a T2000. Watch out for metallic stabby limbs!! :O
So does this mean that at some point we’re going to see a throw down terminator battle between Sharon and Garda Rachael?
This could all provide some interesting fodder for Aoife’s nightmares. Or, knowing Aoife, depending on how it goes, maybe some other kinds of dreams.
I am slightly confused about how dropping Ashling and Fione by the side of the road in the middle of nowhere at night helps them with Sharon…

Hope the Fomorians are not near the school.

@Azreal: I haven’t actually settled on their surnames yet. Therefore, “Garda Finn MacCool” it is.

@Kessy: As we know, Aoife has no issue blabbing to people about her friend with a “magic stick”. Trick is; would Rachael believe her?
