Ashling is so having the same reaction to this situation that I would. I mean learning to semi-fly with the staff is one thing. But fighting giant, Howling, rock monster things is another thing all together! Totally not what she signed up for!
@Howard: That’s kind of what I’m trying to do. I’m always little perplexed whenever a Magical Girl is automatically brave enough to fight monsters from Episode 1. Most teenagers would need at least a *little* building up before throwning them into battle…
Yeah, it makes sense that Ashling’s not all head up to go to war. You’re getting that across nicely, Rawr. It’s been a while, but IIRC Usagi from “Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon” wasn’t the totally fearless war maiden right from the get go. And she had Luna on her side. 😛 But now days they seem to be depicted as such more often than not.
@Azrael: Usagi dissolved into tears in the middle of her first fight. Of course her wailing turned out to be weaponizable. 😉

Actually, Ashling is more verbal here than I’d really expect. I’d have thought more just shaking her head. But that would prolly be harder to depict in a manga.
