Welcome back, and thank you for your patience! Thanks to that extra week I was about to get my stuff in on time for Coffee Party 5, which was sold at COMITA at Tokyo Big Sight last Sunday by Nao. I’ll post some more info on that when I get the chance. Nao will also be sending me a shipment of the book so I’ll be able to get some pictures in then π
So they’ve finally got to the shower and poor old Aoife is still trying to hold herself together. Will her sanityΒ last the whole shower, or is something else about to happen? That corner of the page is getting kinda dark…
Welcome back, Rawr. Glad you got your “CP5” project done on time. Hope it does well for you and Nao. π
You know it just struck me here, Aoife looks strangely…vulnerable without her bandeau. I wonder if she derives some of her confidence from this, her chosen talisman.
I don’t think Aine was prepared for hot “rain”. π
@Azrael: Doesn’t it look like Aoife is wearing a washcloth or something as a bandeau? See the fuzzy line across her forehead?
@Delta: My guess is that Aine has suddenly been struck by a powerful memory of some kind that was evoked by the shower for some reason. Well, either that or we need to check where Aoife’s hands are. π
@Kessy: I just noticed that although Aoife warned Aine to “get ready”, she did so in English, so Aine could also have been taken by surprise. I guess we’ll just have to wait until Rawr explains or shows us in the next comic post. π
@Kessy: That’s the permanent crease in her forehead from always having something there. π But yeah, looking back it looks like she does have an athletic headband on or something of the sort at any rate.
@Azreal: Thank you! CP5 got out to print just in time (with some silly drama to boot…you would be very surprised what some people will do), but Nao got out to COMITA at Tokyo Big Sight with the book and even a few members of the Coffee Party group who live in Japan turned up to help. My Irish character ‘Bareen Brac’ features a lot more in this year’s book too, so it was a lot of fun π
As others have already beaten me to it, Aoife is actually wearing her “Shower Bandau”, this is really just a thin towel wrapped around her head. However, she does not sleep with her bandau, so coming closer to bed-time you will see her forehead ‘au natural’.
Interesting that you noticed her vunerability when she doesn’t wear a bandau. I’d go into more detail but…that would he spoilers… π
@Kessy: You are reading my visual keys very well. There is a memory coming up this Friday π
@Delta: It was supposed to be a bit of a shock to her. Both the heat of the water, but also the very sudden flow of it. It would shock anyone who hadn’t experienced it before π
Is Aoife handy? I can’t think of anything you could buy that would be like a “shower bandeau,” so did Aoife make it herself?
@Kessy: Yes, I believe she is handy. I imagine Aoife to be big into arts & crafts and has made many of her bandau collection herself. (Many of which are made from scraps of fabric she’s kept as souvenirs of various trips and events).
The wooden ‘Aoife’s Place’ door-sign was made by her too, probably in wood-working class.
@Kessy: Of course Aoife’s handsy. Just ask Ashling. What? You said what? Oooh, HANDY. My mistake. π
@Azrael: ROFLMAO! That didn’t even occur to me. Even though I made the comment earlier about checking to see where Aoife’s hands are.
@Rawr: I thought that might be the case. Somehow I don’t see Aoife letting a little thing like a product she wants not existing get in her way.
Yeah, staring up at the faucet isn’t a great idea. That’s how you end up with soap in your eyes.
@melaredblu: One of many things I think Aine is going to learn now….also that claiming that something is ‘No more tears’ is just a lie π
