Oh my indeed. Who is this very tall girl, and that is she doing in Aoife’s poorly fitting school shirt? Well…if you read chapter 5 you would already know this π
So..what sense can Fiona make of all this? Check in next week to find out.

Hmmm, so you woke up Fiona to show her that Aoife has a strange girl in her room in the middle of the night and they’re both half dressed. Just a thought, Ashling, but you *might* want to provide a bit more of an explanation than that. Otherwise I’m not sure you want to see what Fiona’s next Twitface post is like…
Tonight on Wide World of Sports: Olympic caliber Conclusion Jumping by the Irish national team. π
@Kessy: Ashling is being a little annoying here. In-story, it hasn’t been that long since they woke her up to Google the fate of the Ghost-girl, so she’s more than a little annoyed with her. (Although Fiona’s calm demeanor usually translates her annoyance into tired groans.)
Knowing that Fiona is pretty smart with historical stuff, Ashling has brought her to room to get her input on Aine. You never know, this might go into Twitface
#Met_a_Frozen_Popsicel_Girl_from_the_past
#Aoifes_clothes_are_too_small
π
@Azreal: That would be a tough competition, there a lot of paranoid countries out there. The girls would have to train like crazy to take on the likes of North Korea etc… π
@Rawr: I was thinking something more like,
#Aoife_got_lucky!!
Which no one involved would ever live down, no matter how much they denied it. π
@Azrael & Rawr: I’m pretty sure the Red America team would run away with the gold for that event.
Fiona has such an adorable yawn face.
I’m imagining her raction to be wokend up…again…to help Ashling reasearch as something like, “Damn it, Ashling. I’m a student, not a detective.” Which quickly turns to George Takei’s “Oh my.” when she sees what’s in store for her this time. Though the thought of “Aoife, are you molesting students again?” might have flashed through her mind before she realised that Aine wasn’t a student.
@Kessy: Some very Three’s Companyesque misunderstandings going on there.
I’m with Fiona here. Early mornings are the pits.
And there’s a whole lot of ‘splaining to do to make any of this make sense in context. Get to it, Ashling.
My, Aoife has been busy.
Although by this time Ashling should know better than to leave her unsupervised. π
@Delta: I think Ashling has pretty much resigned herself to the inevitable – when Hurricane Aoife makes landfall, your choices are to get out of the way or just hunker down and take shelter. π
I really love Ashling’s “Yepp.” face in the last panel. That’s classic. ^_^
@Farren: I’m pleased you enjoyed Fiona’s yawn. Was trying hard to find an expression that would give that whole ‘cutesy sleepy face’ look π
Folk are coming to more conclusions than Fiona here. Aoife is after all putting *more* clothes on in this scene π
@melaredblu: I think Ashling is mostly coasting on goodwill at the moment. I’ve yet to figure out what an angry Fiona would be like…which isn’t easy since I don’t she’s easily enraged.
@Delta: For the most part, Aoife has just quickly changed her clothes and put on more layers (such as; more than just her underwear). All while Aine stands around in bewilderment.
@Kessy: Glad you liked ‘yepp’ π
Ashling’s relationship with Aoife has always been a process of coping with her and her quirks. I play up this for comedy in the comic, but you also need to imagine the rest of the time when they are just a normal pair of teenagers who are best friends π Ashling has to cope with her often, but the will to do so is born out of love.
FYI Kessy, congratulations on posting Bata Neart’s 1000th comment since launch π
@Kessy: Wow. Congratulations. That’s quite the achievement to unlock. We should have a party.
@Rawr @melaredblu It’s the easy-going, usually calm ones you need to worry about. When we get angry, we get angry
I got #1,000? Wow, cool beans! And congrats to Rawr for getting a thousand comments! ^_^
You know, she may not admit it, but I think at some level Ashling enjoys Aoife’s antics. At least until they have to clean up the mess afterwards.
@Farren: Which is why I’m probably going to have fun depicting Fiona losing her head when that eventually happens π
@Kessy: Thank you, and thank you also for being part of this. It wasn’t all that long ago when it was normal for my comics to rarely receive comments, with only the occasional page inducing a response.
I feel humbled to find myself a little further up the web-cartooning totem poll with a comic that now gets comments on nearly every new page. Remembering where I was, and seeing where I am now, makes me very grateful to readers like yourself and the rest of the gang. I already enjoy drawing this stuff, but with so many comments, it is a genuine pleasure to do.
