Happy New Year!, Godt nytt år!, 新年快乐!, Bonne année…oh and yes….welcome back for a brand new chapter of BATA NEART!!! 😀 😀 😀
Yet again, thank you again for your un-ending patience for my fatigue-driven shenanigans. Your reward is a new Bata Neart story, with a new production approach.
Everything I had learned with Manga School Nakano (and the subsequent course-manga that acted as a place holder here) have helped me form a new production approach for both this manga and for my other comic Back Office.
Layout, pacing, dialoge, and panel totals are all going to be following the methods Nao taught me, and I hope you’ll enjoy the result.
The new approach will ask result in a uniform story length, and a new update structure. All chapters will be 20 pages maximum, resulting in 2 whole chapters completed per year.
With 20 being the target number, I’m also breaking the updates into 5-page blocks, separated by 1-week update breaks. This means that you will get 5 weeks of updates, followed by no update for one week, and then another 5 weeks with updates. It’ll look like this for a standard chapter.
X = Update, O = No update
X-X-X-X-X – O – X-X-X-X-X – O – X-X-X-X-X – O – X-X-X-X-X
The breaks are kind of needed by me. They allow for weeks when I can’t update, and at times when all is well, they will help prop up the Update Buffer.
During the summer and other times, there will be longer breaks. This will also be used for Buffer management, but will also be opportunities for more interactive specials such as ‘Ask Aoife’.
But that’s enough of that. Next week: more of this opening scene.
Until then, welcome back to Bata Neart, welcome to Chapter 6, and welcome to Book 2!!
Yay, welcome back Bata Neart! Is that a new character?
And a happy 2769 to one and all. ^_^
HUZZAH! Welcome back, Rawr. 🙂
And a very Happy New Year to one and all.
Happy New Year to you too! I’ve been bad and fell behind, but it looks like I didn’t miss too much. Looking forward to this new chapter!
@Kessy: Thank you Kessy, and happy new year to you too 😀
This isn’t a new character. It’s actually the re-design of Sister Helena who as usual is doing her night rounds…and as usual isn’t paying too much attention 😀
@Azreal: Thank you Azrael, and happy new year 😀
@melaredblu: Happy new year Sarah 😀 Welcome back! I’ve been bad too and only got back to reading Princess Chroma now. Awesome as always, including my personal favourite in-comic SFX for a long while! I need to find me an excuse to whack some *sense* into a Bata Neart character 😀
Oh, the person who fell for Aoife’s distraction? I was wondering if that was her, but it’s a bit hard to tell with the habit. Well, even if her observational skills leave something to be desired, I guess she must have really good night vision…. 0:-)
Welcome back! NOW it’s going to be a Happy New Year. ^^
You’ll still update on Friday on those weeks you do update, right? 🙂
Happy New year, to you, too! 🙂
due to her expression, I almost expected her to be reading something else (keeping a book hidden inside a book) because she looks so into it, or as though it’s a horror. (Which would be fitting since it’s night.)
Happy New Year everyone. Welcome back Rawr and Sister Helen.
Judging from the look on her face, I don’t think she’s looking at the book. I think she’s found something rather out of place outside this evening. Two of her students and a strange girl, perhaps? I imagine Sister Helen won’t be too surprised to see Aoife and and Ashling half dressed, either.
Unless of course, this is actually shortly after the girls have escaped the school and they’re making their way to Aine right now. If this is a “Meanwhile back at the school…” page, then perhaps Sister Helen has just caught a fleeting glimpse of the girls disappearing into the woods. Not enough to recognize that it’s them, but enough to see that something was out there. Something unusual. Something that shouldn’t be there at this time of night.
Nah. The first scenario is more plausible. What could possibly be happening at the school that is so unusual while our girls are out resurrecting a centuries old sorceress?
@Kessy: Weeeeell, not really. Even with the flash-light she’s not that good. I think she’s on this duty mostly because she’s half a century younger than most of the other nuns 🙂
@Delta: Glad to make the new year happy 😀
Updates will be on Fridays as usual. It just ain’t Friday for me without a new Bata Neart 😀
@Jen: Thank you Jen 😀
I was mostly gunning for ‘fear’ due to her being nervous on night-duty. Remember, the whole place is haunted like crazy 🙂
@Farren: You are pretty close with your first theory 🙂 You’ll see this Friday what is up, but I can confirm that this scene happens after the events of Chapter 5.
