Another quite page and another use of the ‘dynamic sub-titles’. When I scheduled this page I still haven’t heard feedback on those, so I still don’t know if they work. By the next page I will have heard your reactions 😀
Poor old Áine is starting to come to terms with what has just happened to her. But what was she doing in that block of ice anyway? Answers will come in the time. Meanwhile…will Ashling and Aoife be able to escape their binds? Find out next week!
Múinteoir is teacher or mentor, yes?
Okay, Áine, go back in there and get those answers. 😛
The subtitles do work, if it’s completely okay with you that the words not translated are bugging me like crazy!
They are nice to have, or that last sentence would be “can father ??? me my chocolate?” to me 😀
And I concur, Azrael: Áine should ask those who know.
I like the Gaelic but then again, I love languages. I think the subs work 🙂 I’ve used a different font for the same purposes but in my case it was a question of a different dialect/older pronunciation so not exactly the same. *goes back to lurking* XD
@Azrael: Ahh….jumping ahead by translating the Irish again? 🙂 You are correct, Múinteoir is teacher/mentor…in this case mentor…as will be revealed later
@O8h7w: Cool! Thanks for the feedback on the subtitles.
Some of it isn’t translated intentionally, and my intention was to make you wonder what she’s saying there. Sorry if that’s driving you crazy, I’ll try to work on that 😀
Alas folks…as for Áine’s answers…I’m not sure Ashling or Aoife are any wiser about this. We go back to them next week 🙂
@Jen: Thank you for the feedback on the subtitles Jen 🙂 I’m glad you are enjoying the use of Gaelige. There will be much much more of it in the 70+ Chapters I have planned 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy it!
And I’m caught up with the archive, yay! I love the comic so far, and I’m looking forward to more. ^_^
Although I am a bit shocked to find out that Aoife is a brunette – I’ve been picturing her as a redhead.
I like the subtitles, although I’d suggest that you might want to keep them closer to the dialog they’re translating. If there’s more than a single phrase that needs translating in a panel, it could be a bit confusing.
Thanks for checking out Bata Neart Kessy! I’ve also been checking out your comic on DA. Pretty sweet 😀
Red-head Aoife? Hmm…interesting take on her. I wasn’t really sure what hair to give her when I first desinged her, and originally I had actually settled on jet-black hair. That has changed in time to her less-stark brunette hair, which I now put on her colour images (I’m guessing you saw the halloween special).
Good idea with the subtitles. I agree, they need to be closer to the speech bubbles when I use them. I’ll work that into the next couple of pages I produce 😀
Thank you again for reading Bata Neart, and I hope you check in on Friday for a new page 🙂
