And on that note we end this Chapter of Bata Neart.
I hope you’ve enjoyed Chapter 7, and I’ll try now to pick up the tempo a little with Chapter 8.
What happens when you try to introduce a girl from 1500 years ago into a modern classroom? How do you even get her into class without someone asking questions?
Just a couple of things to ponder about while you wait for the next chapter. Next week I will post a place-holder image and start date for Chapter 8 π
Aoife really is good people. <3 Yet another example of why she's my favourite.
See you when you get back, Rawr. Looking forward to it. π
Okay guys, everyone all together now…
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
I still cannot imagine Aine being able to jump in to high school level classes without some major remedial lessons first, there’s just too much she has to learn. Think about it – Ashling and Aoife have already had something like ten years of school that Aine has to catch up on.
Quite. Just learning how to speak, read, and write English will take some time.
@Azrael: I’m thinking time jump? Maybe a few months?
Well, the goodness of SOME people, anyway. Ashling and Fiona are safe to trust, and, yeah, Aoife is a good person (if you don’t count all the mischief) :), and one who will have Aine’s best interests at heart. Sharon Connors the Physical Education instructor/coach, on the other hand, would be a poor choice of someone to rely on, and so would that snotty reporter lady. ><
@Azrael: and @Kessy: How about a speed-learning spell? ^^
@Delta: Yanno, I really think that Sharon is getting a bum wrap. Yeah she’s strict and got a stick up her butt, but she does seem to have the girls’ bests interests at heart, even if she does have the bedside manner of a wood chipper.
LOL A speed learning spell? They could sell that on TV. “And for only four easy payments of $9.99 you too can instantly learn any language or any subject, all thanks to the magic of the Bata Neart!”
@Azreal: She really is good people and although it feels somewhat wrong of me to pick a favourite among my characters, she is my own personal favourite out of all the characters I’ve made. (Followed only by maybe ‘Gary’) The rest of them I love equally.
@Kessy: The chat between yourself and Azreal had actually gotten me thinking, and I have gone back the ‘drawing board’ with my chapter planning.
My original plan for Chapter 8, is now going to be become Chapter 9, with a brand new Chapter 8 being made in it’s place. I was a little *too* eager to jump into the classroom situation with Γine, and there is potential for another whole chapter there which feels like it might be a lot of fun.
I’m deep in planning the pages right now, and think it might have the right balance of tension & comedy when I start rolling out the pages next week. There’s also going to be more opportunities to give everyone good look at the School’s grounds (which are more detailed than I have managed so far).
@Delta: Funny you should mention the reporter lady. I’m actually planning her return π (Not yet, but in the future)
@Kessy: Although strict I have always felt that Sharon has always meant well. It’s just a combination of having to deal with idiot teenagers and dopy faculty members tends to send her blood pressure up. That, and she’s never really had any victories with her Camogie teams, depriving her of any up-side to the job. Frustration is her middle name…Sharon Frustration Connors…
TV advert? I like it!

Mom: Now get dressed! You have your court hearing at 12
Kid: Yay!!!
Announcer: Bata Neart, now in travel size for your mobile difficulties.
Aw, she’s such a sweetheart.
You’re planning to do something horrible to her in the future, aren’t you?
@melaredblu: What makes you think that?! ….oh right, my track record so far…yea you are probably right π
