I don’t normally hit Google Translate for this comic, but I have in the past and… well this time around it didn’t help me at all. I can guess but… seems odd to me that , after all, why would she need it? Precautions?
I shall await the next update.
@Kessy: Glad you enjoy them 😀 It was my ham-fisted attempt to give the impression of Aine quickly micro-managing Ashling’s pose so that it would be ‘correct’ for her plans.
@James: Glad you are excited. I’m actually very pleased with how the next page turned out…which is really rare (I’m a tough self-critic). So you may enjoy it a good bit. Will be coming next Friday (no breaks until the end of the chapter!)
@Browser: I often hope that you won’t guess what it coming based on the translation, keeping some of the surprises intact. Your confusion of what is going on, should be along the same lines as the confusion that Ashling & Co. are also feeling.
In this case, I hope this page will make a lot more sense once you read these next final 3 pages of this chapter.
It looks to me as if Aine is expecting a ceremony of some sort–possibly an official emancipation and/or blessing.
I hope the gang can figure out what she wants she looks SO eager. 🙂
@Rawr: I like the over all effect, but I think in this case you might want to consider adding a little visual indication of motion here. As you know I’m not a big fan of motion lines, but I think a few here might work well. Maybe a few greyscale blurred motion lines? Maybe do a second layer with Aine’s lineart at partial opacity with a few touches from a smudge tool? Something like that? (Kind of thinking out loud here.)
@Delta: I’m pretty sure that Aine realizes that she has to tell Ashling what she wants her to do. I’m guessing the Bata Neart will do the heavy lifting here.
@Kessy: I’m sure you’re right about the Bata Neart, but it wouldn’t be the first time that Aine has overestimated Ashling’s grasp of ancient protocol.
It’s silly of me, I know, *Blush* but I just don’t want Aine to be disappointed. *Deeper blush*
@Kessy: Some good ideas there Kessy. I wasn’t too satisifed with that panel, and I think I’ll try out some of the tricks you mention before I commit this page to a print version 🙂 In this case, I kind of had to abandon the page as-is due to lack of time.
@Delta: Don’t worry Delta, Áine is going to be fine and given your concern for her I think that you will probably like what is about to happen 🙂
